Career Growth, are two words used very commonly by our generation as it’s something everyone aspires for. Growing one’s career in terms of position, power, recognition and of course, in terms of remuneration is on everyone’s mind. I am a software engineer who got placed right after college with my first job in the IT sector, at Tech Mahindra, Pune. But to grow and move ahead in my job, I knew I had to do something more and upgrade my skills.
All of my further technical knowledge is what I gained while working in this company all these years. MBA was on my mind since I was out of college, but with my full-time job finding the right fit was always a struggle. That is when one of my seniors from college told me about SP Jain’s weekend EMBA program, which I joined in the year 2019.
With the amazing experience in college with people of different backgrounds, even amid the pandemic, they were able to provide us with top-notch knowledge and help students in upscaling themselves. My journey at SP Jain School of Global Management was no short of a global experience.
Before joining my MBA, I had switched my job in 2018 to an Associate Software Engineer in Support & Operations at Deutsche Bank in North Carolina and post my MBA, I got promoted to an AVP designation in the role of a Business Analyst where I am further learning new things and applying my 10 years of knowledge in the sector.
“The best part about educating yourself is you can grow in all spheres of life. You don’t just learn the ways of the corporate world, you learn to manage your time well enough to explore everything the world has to offer. I believe that there is no learning that goes waste and all my travels and my studies have helped me get better at everything I do.”
I also believe in having a work-life balance and maintaining your hobbies outside of work to keep a well-rounded personality. I always had an interest in multiple activities like playing the guitar, writing songs, travelling, reading, dancing and much more. I have authored two books and also pursue my passion for music, dance, boxing and travel while excelling at my 9 to 5.
